I study how to put secure, privacy-preserving intelligence directly into the hands of the people who need it most, starting with the elderly and the medically vulnerable, who can least afford a data breach or a laggy connection.
I started on the defensive side, watching network traffic at a news broadcaster, learning to tell a real intrusion from noise. That instinct for what could go wrong followed me into teaching, and now into research.
Today I'm a PhD researcher at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, part of the Smart Technologies Research Group, working on secure, privacy-preserving AI/ML on edge devices for eldercare and healthcare systems, deploying intelligence that's fast, offline-capable, and never has to phone home with someone's medical data.
In between, I've taught at three universities in Pakistan, managed security labs, run outreach programs with organizations like AWS Community and ITCN Asia, and sat on the editorial board of Deep Science.
Research on LLMs and the security of medical data based on edge computing.
Major subjects: Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Cryptography.
